Mr. Will Gruver founded USP&E in 2002, selling and installing diesel and natural gas power generators in the USA. Today, USP&E designs, builds, and operates fuel-efficient and renewable power stations worldwide, with a focus on emerging markets. In 2012, Mr. Gruver was selected by Ernst & Young as an Entrepreneur of the Year; he received the Dallas Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” award for his dynamic leadership and commitment to the North Texas business community; was recognized by INC Magazine as a top 500 U.S. growth company; and received the Dallas 100 Award for placing 7th out of the 100 fastest-growing privately held companies in the Dallas area.
Mr. Gruver graduated from Northwest University in Evanston, Illinois. Before forming USP&E, he worked for Northern Trust Global Investments. Mr. Gruver is actively involved in numerous charity organizations and serves as Chairman of the Board of Every Orphan’s Hope.
Mr. Biermeier joined USP&E in October 2009, bringing his in-depth leadership skills to the company. He is responsible for implementing the company’s strategy and mission statement and applying company values to our projects and customers. Mr. Biermeier works closely with Mr. Gruver in defining the company’s goals and partners for the future success of the company.
Mr. Biermeier received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Prior to joining USP&E, he worked for Intermandeco, Ltd. as a land development coordinator. He has been a construction and development professional for 12 years, as both a developer and a contractor, working in project management/operations and business development.
In Mr. Castillo’s role as CSO, he primarily focuses on the global financing arrangements for the company’s operations in emerging markets. This position includes the development of funding mechanisms and contract structures to facilitate contract negotiations with partners throughout the world. Mr. Castillo aligns the company with strategic partners who can contribute to a project solution for our customers and generates research on new markets in order to ensure that our risk and return criteria are maintained.
Mr. Castillo has more than 40 years’ experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining USP&E, he served as president of First United Bank in McKinney, Texas. Mr. Castillo earned his Bachelor of Science from Florida State University and holds advanced degrees and certificates from numerous banking institutions. He is actively involved in community endeavors and has received accolades throughout his career for his outstanding work.
USP&E celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2012, marking a decade of leadership in providing power generation solutions to emerging markets while making significant contributions to its hometown Dallas/ Ft. Worth Metroplex neighborhood. The respect and trust we have garnered throughout this short time has been widely recognized by many industry greats.
May 8, 2012. USP&E received the prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year National Finalist Award in the Environmental and Construction category in Southwest Area North. The award is sponsored by Ernst & Young, SAP, and the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurship, and honors those individuals building and leading successful growing and dynamic businesses. June 18, 2012. As a highly accomplished executive and entrepreneur, USP&E CEO Will Gruver was selected by The Dallas Business Journal to join its 2012 class of 40 Under Forty. Candidates must be under age 40 and have a proven track record in both business and community involvement. Will Gruver, USP&E’s founder, was selected for this honor for his dynamic leadership, involvement, and commitment to the North Texas business community.
November 17, 2012. The Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship / Dallas SMU Cox School of Business honors those entrepreneurs who build their own businesses and create jobs in the Dallas Metroplex. USP&E placed seventh out of the 100 fastest-growing privately held companies in the Dallas area.
